Enables people to improve their lives and communities through partnerships. The goal is to help grow strong and vibrant communities. Areas covered include: Foods and Nutrition, 4-H and Youth Development, Individual and Family Well-Being, and Agriculture.
Programs
- Reality Check: A statewide youth-led grassroots movement against the tobacco industry for youth ages 13-18
- In-Home Breastfeeding Support: Trained educators visit pregnant and new moms to help support and encourage breastfeeding.
- Shapedown: A 10-week weight management program for youth ages 7-18 and their families. Topics include proper eating habits, physical activity, behavior modification and communication skills.
- Busy Bodies: An obesity prevention program offering pre-school children basic nutrition and physical activity messages in a puppet-show format
- Clowns in the Kitchen: Targeted at 2nd grade students, this in-school nutrition education program promotes healthy eating habits and basic nutrition in a fun and interactive way.
- The Family Life Program: Available to food stamp recipients and other low- income individuals and families, it is a series of lessons that include food and kitchen safety, the food guide pyramid, the importance of eating fruits and vegetables, financial resource planning, parenting education and organizational skills needed in the home. Health and disease management topics are also available to county residents.

- Healthy Living Partnership of Niagara County

- Niagara County Department of Health Education Program
Community presentations, educational information and referral for heart disease, obesity, tobacco cessation, stress management and general health and wellness. 439-7438
- Niagara County Department of Health -- Nursing Division

- Niagara Wellness Council
A not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing wellness opportunities for those who live and/or work in Niagara County. Provides a Speakers Bureau with experts from the following fields are available to organizations and groups on Aging, Back Care, Nutrition, Physical Activity, Tobacco Education and Cessation. 284-9091 email

Provides educational programming that targets current health issues most relevant to Niagara County residents. Both credit and non-credit classes are offered that explore smoking cessation programs, cardiovascular disease prevention, obesity prevention and physical fitness activities.

The YMCA promotes fitness for the entire body.
- The Lockport YMCA Wellness programs feature cardiovascular fitness and strength training, aquatics classes, indoor group cycling, Jumpstart (jump rope-based exercise program) yoga, Pilates, family aerobics, water exercise and Active Older Adults exercise programs.
- Numerous sports programs for children and young adults are also offered.

The Niagara Falls YMCA is a full service fitness center providing exercise opportunities for the entire family.
- Programs for women and children include weightlifting (free weights, universal and nautilus equipment available), cardio health, water aerobics, swim lessons and recreation programs.
- A latchkey program with an emphasis on fitness is available for children 5 to 12 years of age. Swimming, basketball and baseball are just a few of the programs available for participants.
YWCA of Niagara

The YWCA of Niagara, serving the Niagara County community for over 80 years, is a leader in providing quality fitness programs for women and girls.
- Health Promotional Services (HPS) programs are geared toward the total health of Niagara County women and girls. The Fitness Center offers individualized programs provided by certified personal trainers to improve the general health of women and girls.
- Programs include aerobics, kickboxing, self-defense, children's dance, nutrition and weight counseling.
- The Fitness Center features cardio equipment, universal equipment, free weights, interval training room, Pilates/yoga instruction, aerobic studio and gymnasium.
- Fitness Center sports programs include basketball, football, volleyball and floor hockey for girls ages 8-15.
